What We Do At The Fine Feathered Friends Foundation
Rescue
We are available to receive pet birds, with no fees, that are being relinquished by their families for various reasons. We also take in lost birds that are found and brought to us, and do our best to reunite them with their former owner. If unsuccessful, we work to find them new forever homes.
Rehabilitation
Most birds that are surrendered to us are in good health and condition. Some, however, require veterinary care including medications, which can be quite costly. Some birds require complete diet changes as they have been fed items that are not healthy. If birds arrive that are disabled, we set them up in a cage environment to suit their needs and disabilities.
Placement
We try very hard to find new homes for our rescue birds as soon as possible, but we do not rush the process. It is very important to us to find just the right home for each and every bird that is in our care, however long that may take.
Education
We offer advice on pet bird care, feeding, etc., via phone/text or email and are available to assist in any way we can. We also offer basic educational programs on pet bird care to schools, day care facilities, as well as youth groups such as 4-H.
