FINE FEATHERED FRIENDS FOUNDATION
-The Beginning
In the words of our founder Myrna Frame - The Fine Feathered Friends Foundation was envisioned in the ’90s, in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, CA, by bird lovers Myrna Frame and her husband Curtis. “We had owned several parrots before then but started taking in birds that people could no longer keep. People found us by word-of-mouth and before we knew it, we had twenty birds, all looking for new homes! Eventually, in 2003, we formed a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, established ourselves in Rolling Hills CA, joined the South Bay Bird Society bird club, and I guess the rest is history, as they say…
We are small, but we care about each bird’s needs, its past history, its special needs, assessing and correcting its diet, and verifying its medical condition. We are an all-volunteer organization.
We specialize in rehoming birds, quality adoptions, and we would eventually like to work on a sanctuary situation for those birds that cannot be rehomed.
One hundred percent of the donations we receive go toward the birds’ care, food, and vet services. We need your contributions just to survive, so please help us if you can. Every dollar counts!

OUR MISSION
Our mission at Fine Feathered Friends Foundation, a California 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation, is to provide a safe place for pet birds that are in need of a new home for various reasons - relocation, the passing of a family member, etc. - and we do our best to search for the best possible home for all of these precious creatures. We also take in pet birds that have been found and do all we can to reunite them with their previous family. During their time here at our rescue, the birds are cared for with love and compassion. Some arrive needing veterinary care and others are in need of a complete diet change. Every bird is unique and special and we love them all, big and small! We are “For The Birds!”
As part of our mission, we offer advice on feeding, care, and enrichment for pet birds and are available by phone, text, or email to answer any inquiries. We are also able to provide educational programs for schools, daycare facilities, as well as youth groups such as 4-H, Girl Scouts, etc.
